Raleigh filmmaker Tim Kiernan of 521 Studies shot some footage of Greenville expats Future Islands performing at Nightlight on March 6, 2010.

The band made a stop at the Chapel Hill nightclub to celebrate the venue’s 7-year anniversary. Joining them were Wizzerds of Rhyme, DJ’s Mothers Brothers and DJ Family Vacation.

Only two months away from the release of the band’s highly anticipated sophomore full length, Future Islands played a handful of cuts from the new album, including the early favorite “An Apology.” In Evening Air is due in stores May 4 through Thrill Jockey Records.

If Kiernan’s name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s the man behind the excellent The Death of Kings short film that premiered at the 2009 edition of SPARKcon.
