The Durham Performing Arts Center has certainly seen its share of bad luck with cancellations. The Monkees, Adele, Loretta Lynn, Elvis Costello and Aretha Franklin all had to either postpone or altogether cancel their Durham appearances.

While we await a new date for Adele’s crazy anticipated performance, we already know that Aretha Franklin and Loretta Lynn will come this way in early 2012.

While not as soon as we would like, Elvis Costello and the Imposters have set a new date for their DPAC performance. The celebrated songwriter will make his way to Durham April 29.

Ticket holders for the Sept. 22 date at DPAC can use the same tickets for this rescheduled date. In addition, tickets are still available and start at $39.50.

Costello postponed the next leg of his “The Spectacular Spinning Songbook Tour” due to “matters pertaining to the very serious illness of a close family member.”

At each performance, fans are invited on stage to spin the Wheel, helping to create new sets at each performance from a collection of 40 hits and rarities.
