It’s been far too long since we heard the musical stylings of one Mr. Matthew Park — half of what was once the incomparable Veelee.
While Veelee is long gone — relieve their incredible Sessions at Studio B performance here — Matt’s been working on a new band, Airstrip, featuring members of Monsonia, Caltrop and Gross Ghost.
Output has thus far been light, but the band has two solid tracks on its Bandcamp page, and they today released a music video of the track “Magician’s Assistant” directed by Denmark Records‘ Logan Sayles. As Logan explains, the video was shot using six iPhones; and I have to say the result is pretty stunning.
Airstrip will make its live debut this Thursday (Thanksgiving!) at Kings Barcade along with Hammer No More The Fingers, and Roy Bourne of The Cellar Seas. The show is free and should pretty much own.
