This semester’s Wolfpack Welcome Week will take the rare opportunity to welcome new and returning students to N.C. State with a concert at an off-campus venue.

The Union Activities Board announced this year’s Wolfstock will feature a performance from mash-up artist Girl Talk at the Raleigh Amphitheater on Thursday, August 18.

Board Vice President Kelly Harris explained, “The Union Activities Board believes the open atmosphere of a Girl Talk performance compliments the organization’s mission statement of creating ‘innovative activities that stimulate, motivate, educate and involve the Student Body.’”

Also taking the stage at the amphitheater will be Eddy B & Tim Gunter, LiLa and King Mez.

“After students met last May for an impromptu flash rave turned riot, it became clear that our student body was craving more organic events in spaces where they can dance, have fun, and feel connected,” Board President Matt Woodward said. “Wolfstock is an innovative attempt to bring a welcome week concert that will engage a diverse range of students.”

Wolfstock is a private event held only for current N.C. State students with a valid NCSU Student ID. Students can pick up their free ticket at the Talley Student Center’s Ticket Central.

Buses will be provided for students who cannot drive from campus to the downtown venue.

In January, Girl Talk played a sold out, very sweaty set at Disco Rodeo.
