Dubbed a “jazz crawl,” more than a dozen jazz artists will take the stage at various venues throughout Downtown Apex on Sept. 17.

Organized by the Apex Downtown Business Association, the Apex Jazz Festival will feature headlining acts Shana Tucker and Quintessence performing at the Halle Cultural Arts Center.

Backntime, Nate Robertson Group, Steve Hobbs, Jo Gore Duo, Gregg Gelb, Gary Brunotto, Bill Mann, Cool Heat, Grant Osborne, Robert Griffin featuring Tirza Wine, and Mark Wells of Peter Lamb & The Wolves will perform in the restaurants and eateries along Salem Street.

An outdoor stage will also be set up in the Apex Chamber of Commerce lot for open mic performers, student rock bands from Music & Rock School and Peak City Sound.

“Downtown Apex is the perfect setting for a jazz crawl, and we’re expecting not only a great night, but for people to leave wanting to do it again next year,” ADBA member and event organizer Blaine East said in a release.

100.7 FM The River Sunday Brunch host Kitty Kinnin will act as emcee for the headlining performances at the Halle Cultural Arts Center.

Tickets are available in two formats. Silver allows access to the outdoor stage, as well as all of the restaurants and eateries, but not the headlining show at Halle Cultural Arts Center. Gold allows access to the outdoor stage, as well as all of the restaurants, eateries and the headlining show.

Silver tickets are $20, while gold will cost you $30. Access to the outdoor stage is free and open to the public.
