Widespread Panic will play back-to-back gigs at Raleigh Amphitheater

Last summer Widespread Panic played back-to-back nights at Walnut Creek, attracting a total 10,218 attendees to the 20,000-capacity shed.

After averaging 5,000 concert goers each night, it would seem the City’s new Downtown shed may be better suited for the Athens-based jam band.

That’s exactly where they’ll go when Widespread takes the stage at the Raleigh Amphitheater September 23 and 24. Tickets for both shows go on sale July 8 at 10 a.m.

The band is celebrating its 25th anniversary and says it will play “smaller, more intimate venues that have become fan favorites through the years.”

Of course, this will be the first time Widespread has stepped foot in the Raleigh Amphitheater.

After the conclusion of this fall’s tour, followed by some select dates at the start of the New Year, Widespread has announced that it will go on hiatus. So this may be one of the last times for a while to catch the band, then it will probably be back to Walnut Creek.
