There was no better gift The Love Language could have given Raleigh than their four-night stand at Slim’s Downtown.
After blowing away sold-out crowds the first three nights, the band returned with what front man Stuart McLamb described as “nothing more, nothing less than The Love Language.”
“These last four nights have been truly amazing. Everything we’d hoped they be,” McLamb told the crowd Friday night. “We did a lot of different things each night, but tonight we decided to be nothing more, nothing less than The Love Language.”
It was a perfect ending for these incredible nights. With Lonnie Walker as The Love Language’s frenetic opener, the energy piqued and held throughout the show, providing the sweatiest, most danceable night.
As the night came to a close, a realization set in, “This is it. This is the end of the week.”
It was sobering to say the least, but that didn’t slow The Love Language, who invited Lonnie Walker front man Brian Corum back on stage for an impromptu performance of the Richard Berry by way of The Kingsmen’s hit “Louie Louie.”
“I said we gotta go now. Let’s step on out of here. Let’s go,” Corum sang, or at least I think he did.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, baby, indeed.
Photographer Tim Lytvinenko was there Friday night and shared with us his shots from the night. If you like what you see, you can follow his work at http://newtim.tumblr.com/ and http://twitter.com/newmediatim.
