For Night 2 of The Love Language‘s four-night stand at Slim’s in Downtown Raleigh, the band welcomed Whatever Brains to open the show and guest on a surprise show closer.

Following the previous evening‘s faithful performance of the band’s self-titled debut, Night 2 saw The Love Language play their sophomore album, Libraries, in its entirety.

And for the encore, the band welcomed back fan favorites — “Providence,” “Lalita,” “Manteo,” “Sparxxx” and “Two Rabbits” — and worked in a brand new tune, “Cody’s Song.”

The big surprise came with The Love Language’s second encore, a cover of The Troggs’ classic “Wild Thing,” featuring Whatever Brains’ frontman Rich Ivey on vox.

Photographer Tim Lytvinenko was there Wednesday night and shared with us his shots from the night. If you like what you see, you can follow his work at http://newtim.tumblr.com/ and http://twitter.com/newmediatim.
