Triangle ex-pat Justin Vernon stopped into Late Night with Jimmy Fallon yesterday to perform the B-side to his new single “Calgary.”
Joined by Megafaun‘s Phil Cook on piano, Vernon performed the Bonnie Raitt’s “Can’t Make You Love Me.”
The track is from the flip side of Bon Iver’s lead single from his sophomore album, Bon Iver, Bon Iver. The album will see a release through Jagjaguwar June 20.
Cook, meanwhile, recently released a solo album, Hungry Mother Blues, May 10 through Trekky Records.
A little back story on Cook and Vernon, in addition to the two performing in Gayngs together, they were both members of the band DeYarmond Edison before it split and became Megafaun and Bon Iver.
Bon Iver will perform at the Raleigh Amphitheater with The Rosebuds on July 29. Tickets are available for between $24.50 and $37.
