The first headliner for this year’s North Carolina State Fair has leaked, and it looks like Fair organizers will maintain the Fair’s trend of packing Dorton Arena with country, Christian and pop artists.

While details are scarce, Christian rock band Newsboys revealed on its website that they would perform at the N.C. State Fair Oct. 21.

Being that this year’s theme hasn’t even been announced, ticket information is certainly not yet available.

We’ll have a complete list of performers as well as tickets prices as soon as they are available.

Newsboys released its 14th studio album, Born Again, in July 2010. It is the band’s first full-length album with lead singer Michael Tait (DC Talk).

I am just wondering why we can never get big name bands/singers at the fair? Is it a budget thing? I have lived here almost 6 years and have never had any interest in atending a concert at the fair. Plenty of other states:Missouri, Minnesota for example can get Lennard Skynnard,Deff Leppard. Why cant we get these bands? thanks
