The purple one announced his “Welcome 2 America” tour will come to Raleigh in just a few weeks.
Prince will perform at the RBC Center in Raleigh on March 23; tickets for the show go on sale March 14 at 10 a.m. for between $20 and $199. The artist formerly known as an unpronounceable symbol will also perform in Charlotte March 24 and Greensboro March 26.
The Carolina dates mark a homecoming for two members of The New Power Generation. Drummer John Blackwell and vocalist/tambourine player Shelby Johnson are both from South Carolina.
Prince released the album 20Ten appropriately in 2010.
He previously brought his Musicology tour to the RBC Center in 2004. He also performed at Walnut Creek in 1997, Dorton Arena in ’82 and ’80, and the Civic Center in ’80.
