Steely Dan Returns To DPAC Summer 2011

More yacht rock is coming to Durham, this time around Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Steely Dan will once again hit the stage at DPAC.

Joined by jazz musician Sam Yahel, Steely Dan brings its Shuffle Diplomacy 2011 tour to the Durham Performing Arts Center on Aug. 4. Tickets start at $65 and go on sale to the general public March 18 at 10 a.m. Friends of DPAC members can place their ordersĀ on March 16.

Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen and Walter Becker will be accompanied by Keith Carlock (drums), Jon Herington (guitar), Freddie Washington (bass), Jim Beard (keys), Michael Leonhart, Walt Weiskopf, Roger Rosenberg and Jim Pugh (horns), and background singers Carolyn Leonhart, Cindy Mizelle and Catherine Russell.

Steely Dan has sold more than 30 million albums, led by the singles “Do It Again,” “Reelin’ in the Years,” “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number” and “Hey Nineteen.”

The band brought its Rent Party tour to DPAC in 2009.
