311 will return to Raleigh this summer, this time hoping to attract a larger crowd at Walnut Creek.

Dubbed the “Unity Tour,” 311 and Sublime with Rome will hit the road this summer for a 32-date tour, beginning July 8 in Kansas. The tour is set to bring the two bands to the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion in Raleigh on August 2.

Ticket pre-sales begin April 19, while the public on-sale is April 22 at 10 a.m.

311, which drew a crowd of only 1,882 to the 5,600-capacity Raleigh Amphitheater on October 30, may be banking on the allure of Sublime with Rome to attract a larger crowd to the 20,000-capacity Walnut Creek.

On July 5, 2009, 311 drew a crowd of 7,286 to the big shed, the smallest draw of the concert season. In 2008, 311 was joined by Snoop Dogg to attract 8,350.

Sublime with Rome is the latest incarnation of Sublime, which ceased the use of the name after frontman Bradley Nowell’s death in 1996. Nowell registered the trademark “Sublime” under his own name prior to his death.

Comprised of Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh and bassist Eric Wilson, Sublime with Rome enlists the vocals of Rome Ramirez

“We’re so excited to hit the U.S. with 311. We’ll have our album out and will be playing new original songs alongside the fan favorites,” Rome said. “This will be an epic tour that will forever be remembered.”

The band’s debut album is due out on Fueled by Ramen.
