Ahead of the release of their as-of-yet untitled new album, Portland-based Yacht is hitting the road with their backing band the Straight Gaze to preview new material.
“Just as the ego, if not regularly dissolved in the howling largeness of transcendent experience, will slowly drift from its sense of itself as part of a larger whole — so will YACHT, if kept from the road, decay into nothingness,” Yacht’s Claire L. Evans and Jona Bechtolt said in a release.
The band is set to make its way to the Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro April 23. Tickets are available for $12 in advance or $15 the day of the show.
Yacht’s new album, which also does not yet have a release, is the follow-up to 2009′s See Mystery Lights.
