What could be better than hearing the Boston Pops perform baseball anthems from the diamond? Why Kenny Loggins’ beard and golden locks, that’s what!

But since he’s been sporting a goatee for a few years now, we’ll have to settle for Kenny Loggins performing with the Boston Pops in iconic baseball stadiums across the country.

Loggins will join the Pops for a 10-city tour of minor league baseball stadiums that is set to kick-off Aug. 16 at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Tickets for the Boston Pops “Hollywood Hits” tour go on sale February 28, 2011 and will be available through each venue’s box office, website and phones.

“I can’t think of a better marriage between the worlds of music and sports than that between America’s Orchestra and America’s favorite pastime,” Boston Pops Conductor Keith Lockhart said.

Loggins added, “It is a true pleasure to work with such a prestigious and talented orchestra, and it’s an absolute honor to perform for the wonderful people of these great American towns and cities we will be visiting.”

The tour is inspired by a Boston Pops concert featuring Kenny Loggins at the Pawtucket Red Sox’ McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, this past fall. The show features the orchestra’s performance of “The Star Spangled Banner,” John Philip Sousa’s “National Game” March, “Casey at the Bat,” “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” and highlights from the film The Natural.

Loggins will close the show by joining the Boston Pops for some of his greatest hits — “Footloose,” “Danger Zone,” “This Is It,” “Nobody’s Fool” … you know the deal.

Long live yacht rock, baseball and high fives!
