As the first month of the new year draws closer to a close, we approach the re-relocation of Double Barrel Benefit, an annual event benefiting WKNC.
The event, which originally called Kings Barcade home when it launched eight years ago, is moving back to Kings from The Pour House, which served the station well over the past several years. And from the looks of it, this year’s event will be one for the books.
Over the next two days, KNC will announce the lineup for the two-night benefit during its Local Lunch segment. Fitting considering the event caters to local musicians.
The first announcement came Monday afternoon, and it leaves us with some high expectations for night two as the night-one lineup will be a tough one to beat.
On Friday, Feb. 4, DBB8 will feature performances from Cassis Orange, Luego, Bright Young Things and The Old Ceremony.
Tickets for the event will go on sale via theĀ Kings website Jan. 11 for $10 for each night or $18 for both nights. Attendees will receive a free eight-song compilation album featuring an original, previously unreleased track from each of the eight bands performing.
If you missed The Old Ceremony on Sessions at Studio B, you can check out their performance over on the video’s landing page.
