Interpol is hitting the road this spring for U.S. tour that has the band coming to Raleigh in May.

The NYC-based band who was a major player in the post-punk revival at the turn of the millennium will perform at the seldom utilized Disco Rodeo May 4.

Pre-sale tickets for the show are available for $32 and includes a download of three free bonus tracks from the band. General ticket sales begin Jan. 21 for $25 in advance or $28 the day of the show.

Interpol released is eponymous fourth album Sept. 7 through Matador Records. Shortly after the band completed writing and recording the album, bassist Carlos D departed Interpol to pursue other interests.

Drummer Sam Fogarino told Toronto’s Eye Weekly that Carlos D left the band because the bassist didn’t actually enjoy playing bass.

“Carlos really doesn’t like playing the bass guitar,” Fogarino said. “How integral is the bass to Interpol music? I mean, it’s huge. It’s a total harmonic component. It’s hook-laden. But he really, really didn’t like the bass. It’s not his instrument of choice, and it definitely wasn’t his first instrument.”
