Directed by French filmmaker and animator Mariexxme, the music video for Free Electric State‘s lead single from its debut LP was shot between Paris, Chapel Hill and Raleigh.
The live footage was shot in Raleigh and Chapel Hill by Dana Calistri and Jeanne Snodgrass.
“Six Is One” is the lead single from Free Electric State’s album Caress, which is due in stores April 20 through Churchkey Records. The track “captures the wide swath of emotions endured while trying to love and support someone who is completely self-destructive, and the frustrating realization of what may be the only help you have left to offer.”
“I’m a dark person lyrically,” Free Electric State’s bassist and singer Shirlé Hale explained. “Loss, lust, regret — those things, they just come out.”
