Some time between June 30 and July 1, Colorwheel Records released the latest EP — suitably titled EP II — from the Triangle’s favorite Technicolor pop band, Violet Vector and the Lovely Lovelies.
The folks over at Triangle Music point out that Colorwheel Records lists EP II as being released on June 31. The problem is that there is no such date … unless I need a new calendar and Blackberry.
Regardless, June “31″ has come (?) and gone, so that means the second EP from Violet Vector and the Lovely Lovelies is out and ready for purchase. The label’s Web site says the album was officially made available July 4.
“As of tomorrow, EP II will be for sale indefinitely through our online shop, various digital media outlets (iTunes, amazon, eMusic, etc.) as well as from the band itself,” the label posted on July 3.
Two tracks — “Sunshine in Space” and “Technicolor Electric” — are available for streaming at Colorwheel’s MySpace page, while “Grass is Glowing” can be heard at VVLL’s.
VVLL has a show coming up this Saturday, July 11 at Raleigh Downtown Live opening for Joan Jett along with I Was Totally Destroying It, The T’s, The Beast, Schooner and The Bleeding Hearts. Coming up, the band will also perform at Slim’s in Raleigh on Aug. 7 and Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Sept. 5.

Hello!
Just to try to clear up the release date confusion a little bit…the wrong date was listed on our website (which is glaringly obvious, seeing as how it doesn’t exist and all)! The real release date is as-yet-undetermined and will be posted very soon! For now, the EP is up for preorder at our myspace as well as the website.
The “News” section of our website now reflects these changes.
Please don’t let MY lack of a calendar and a blackberry reflect poorly on this EP; it is truly magnificent! Love those Lovely Lovelies!

There’s no doubt in my mind that “EP II” is phenomenal.
