Touring trade publication Pollstar featured the White Sox All-Star Band and its planned performance at this year’s benefit for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum.
“It’s not a bunch of pro ballplayers making like rock stars in their spare time,” Pollstar’s Jay Smith writes. “The White Sox All-Star Band is made up of musicians you already know (or should know).”
The benefit will take place on Sept. 6 at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, and will feature performances by Darryl McDaniels of Run-D.M.C., Patty Smyth and Scandal, Blessid Union of Souls, Nine Days, The Freddy Jones Band, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, The Georgia Satellites and 94 East.
This year’s White Sox All-Star Band lineup includes musicians from Queen, Yes and Journey, among others.
