To coincide with the release of the band’s sophomore album, Daytrotter has released the session Bowerbirds recently recorded for the live music blog.

The set includes “Dark Horse” from 2007’s Hymns for a Dark Horse as well as three tracks from Upper Air — “Chimes,” “Beneath Your Tree” and Teeth.” The band also recorded a Dayrotter session in 2007.

Bowerbirds Phil Moore and Beth Tacular recorded the tracks with drummer Matt Damron. You can check out the track “Beneath Your Tree” sans Damron from the band’s performance on Sessions at Studio B.

Upper Air was released July 7 through Dead Oceans. The band is currently on a nationwide tour with Durham-based Megafaun.
