Following a month long stint of festival performances, Brooklyn-based Chairlift will hit the road for an extensive North American tour with Micachu & The Shapes for the first leg of the tour.
Before heading to Europe, the band will perform four dates with French buzz band Phoenix.
Chairlift’s North American tour will bring the band to Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Sept. 8. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 the day of the show.
Like Feist, Chairlift experienced modest success when one of the band’s songs was featured in a commercial for Apple’s iPod Nano. With Apple’s coveted endorsement, “Bruises” landed in the top-10 of alternative music singles on iTunes.

“They have set themselves up as tastemakers when it comes to music,” drummer Patrick Wimberly explained of Apple to The New York Times. “We wouldn’t have done the commercial for anybody. We wouldn’t have done an S.U.V. commercial.”
