The Beast Releases EP To Benefit Durham Arts

Hip-hop/Jazz collective The Beast has quietly released a new EP that features two songs recorded in one take at Pure Sound Studios in Durham.

The band is offering the Catalyst EP as a free download, however they are asking that people who download the album make a donation to the Durham Arts Council.

The EP features the brand new tracks “Once Again” and “Come Up, Come Down,” and includes contributing vocals from Grammy nominated jazz singer Nnenna Freelon on “Once Again.” Also, The Proclivities guitarist Chris Boerner is featured on the track “Come Up, Come Down.”

You can catch The Beast when they perform on Sessions at Studio B on July 9. Around town, you can catch them at Downtown Live with Joan Jett on July 11, The Pinhook in Durham on July 30, the Durham, Be Easy Festival on Aug. 21 and the Deep South Bar in Raleigh on Aug. 21.
