About Today

It was almost a year ago when we last saw The National perform in the Triangle. At the time, the Brooklyn-based indie rock group stole the show when they opened for Modest Mouse and R.E.M. at Walnut Creek. This time around, the band brought with them new material and made its mark at Lincoln Theatre on Thursday, May 28.

The sold out performance featured a long list of fan favorites from The Boxer and Alligator, a closer from 2004’s Cherry Tree EP and three brand new tracks. The National is road testing new material from its up-coming fifth studio album, and performed the songs “The Runaway,” “Vanderlylle Cry Baby” and “Blood Buzz Ohio” at Lincoln.
