Having formed in 1992, Jeff Carroll & the Desmonds put out their first — and to date, only — album in 1994 under the Accidental record label. Chocolate Box was recorded by frontman Jeff Carroll and bassist Bert Rogers in Rogers own studio, but a few years later the band began to slowly drift apart and they eventually split.

That split became more of a hiatus when the original lineup reunited 13 years after their last gig. The initial talks began at a mutual friend’s birthday party in July 2008, and it led to the band beginning to rehearse just before Christmas 2008 for their first show since the mid-’90s — a show at The Pour House in March with A Rooster For the Masses.
Thirteen years later, the band has picked up a second guitarist — Steve Storms — and dropped the “Jeff Carroll &” part of their name. “Bert taught Steve how to play guitar in about three hours,” Carroll joked.
In the early ’90s, Rogers says the band was out to find a record label and be the biggest band in the world. Now, he says the guys are in their 40s and are just looking to have fun rather than experiencing the grandeur of being famous.
Carroll says right now The Desmonds are just enjoying playing live shows, and aren’t really focusing on writing and recording a new album — that sophomore LP some people may say is a long time coming.

We love this band and have heard them in the 90s.
i’m sure they will continue to do great things. Vocals and harmonies are awesome. the addition of steve brings them to a higher level.
and how about that drummer. i’ve been watching him for a long time.
he is just the greatest. you all are.
