Annuals, Sunfold Premiere New Tracks

It has been less than a year since we heard new music from either Annuals or the band’s sister group Sunfold. But both bands are hard at work on the follow-ups to their 2008 albums and have debuted new tracks on MySpace.

Fronted by Kenny Florence and backed by Adam Baker on drums, Mike Robinson on bass and Zach Oden on guitar, Sunfold unleashed “Levels” from the band’s up-coming new EP Harmonia Macrocosmica – Part 1.

On the flip-side, Annuals features Robinson still on bass, Oden on guitar, Florence on guitar, and adds Nick Radford on drums and Anna Spence on keys while putting Adam Baker up front. The band posted the track “The Giving Tree” on their MySpace page — the song features a more prominent electronic drum lick than heard on 2008’s Such Fun.

If you missed Annuals performance on Sessions at Studio B, you can check it out at the video’s landing page. You can also see photos from the performance at the Music.MyNC Facebook fan page.

Sunfold has a show coming up on June 26 at Local 506 with Thoughtspeak, On Photon and Hammer No More The Fingers. Check out photos from Sunfold’s Jan. 11 performance at Local 506 with Lafcadio.
