Well it looks like eight years was just too long between new releases, because Durham-based indie rockers Superchunk are ready to release yet another new album this year.
The trailblazers will release Crossed Wires on July 7 through frontman Mac McCaughan’s own Merge Records. The album will be a limited edition 7″ pressed on clear vinyl. Only 1,000 copies of the release will be made available, and it will feature “Crossed Wires” on the A-side and “Blinders (Fast Vers.)” on the B.
The record was produced by Scott Solter (John Vanderslice, The Mountain Goats) at Overdub Lane in Durham and features artwork by New York artist Will Yackulic.
For the iPod generation, a digital download code will be included with all purchases of the vinyl release and will include a demo version of “Crossed Wires.”
