It’s a hefty order even for the most prolific songwriter to write and record 30 songs in 30 days, but Hunter MacDermut successfully completed the task with a subtle, “It’s over, thank god.”
Despite MacDermut’s modest notes about individual tracks:
“I tried sort of a shoegazing type of thing. It was unsuccessful.”
“This is what a song sounds like when it’s written in less time than it takes to write it.”
“My friend Abraham was over and together we could’ve written a song that would blow your mind (in a good way), but I wrote this instead.”
“This was a mistake, but my frustration got the best of me.”
“Most people’s voices get sexier when they’re sick. I’m not one of those people.”
He’s crafted a solid statement to the art of songwriting.
