Despite having lived everywhere from Mississippi to Amsterdam to Australia, and being exposed to a huge variety of musical genres and cultures, The Alcazar Hotel frontman Will Dawson always returns to his rock ‘n’ roll roots.

Dawson explains that The Alcazar Hotel is straight up rock with no qualifiers needed. The band’s most recent release, Come ON! Dig the Unified Theory!, was recorded with a two-string bass, electric guitar and “vicious” drums while Dawson was still living in Mississippi and working at Delta Recording Service in Como.
The album features contributions from Jimbo Mathus of the Squirrel Nut Zippers and Luther Dickinson of The Black Crowes and North Mississippi Allstars.
Now living in Chapel Hill, Dawson has returned to school to study elementary education and rocking throughout North Carolina in support of … the Unified Theory! He also performs with numerous other Triangle bands including Katharine Whalen’s Lucky and Squirrel Nut Zippers playing alto sax, guitar, piano, melodica and accordion.
The Alcazar Hotel has numerous performances coming up in the area, including at Nightlight in Chapel Hill on May 20, The Cave on June 5, Nightlight on June 9, The Station in Carrboro on June 13, Jack Sprat in Chapel Hill on June 20 and The Reservoir on July 30.
