Fronted by Brian Corum, Lonnie Walker started as a one-man band while attending college at East Carolina. But the endeavor quickly morphed into a five-piece that melds the folk songwriting of Bob Dylan with the raw energy of Iggy Pop.
The band considers themselves Americana punk, but it’s much more difficult than that to pinpoint their genre — perhaps that is what has helped Lonnie Walker grow the rabid following that they have.
These Times Old Times was released May 30 through Raleigh-based Terpsikhore Records — check out the Carrboro Ninja’s review of the album.
