Seattle-based radio station KEXP must have a thing for Triangle musicians, or they just have a good ear for talent, because the station has once again featured one of our own. This time” Durham indie rockers Red Collar.

The band has the track “The Astronaut” featured on the station’s “Song of the Day” blog feature. The track was picked from Red Collar’s self-released album Pilgrim by KEXP’s Afternoon Show host Kevin Cole.

Red Collar has quite the tour lined up through the summer; including stops at Tir Na Nog in Raleigh on July 4 and Sept. 12, and Local 506 in Chapel Hill on July 10.

Pilgrim was released March 14, 2009, and was produced and mixed by Brian Paulson (Uncle Tupelo, Sun Volt, Wilco).
