Earlier in April, we broke the news that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum enjoyed last summer’s event so much, that it announced the second annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert.
Like last year, the event will be held in Cary at the Koka Booth Amphitheater on Sunday, Sept. 6. Today, details emerged in regard to tickets and performers set to appear at the concert.
Tickets will go on sale Saturday, May 16 at all Ticketmaster outlets and the Booth Amphitheatre box office for $35 to $100. A limited number of four-pack lawn seats will also be available while supplies last for $96.
A press release boasts a “line-up of rock legends, R&B superstars, all-star bands and emerging artists.” So who can we expect in the legendary line-up?
Darryl McDaniels (better known as D.M.C.), Patty Smyth and Scandal, 94 East, Blessid Union of Souls, Nine Days, The Freddy Jones Band, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, The Georgia Satellites and White Sox All-Star Band.
The release also reveals that, “In addition to benefiting the Rock Hall’s music education outreach efforts, this year’s show will also benefit the Cary Community Foundation.”
“We couldn’t have been more pleased with last year’s show and the support we received from the Town of Cary, the Greater Raleigh Convention & Visitors Bureau, our various corporate and media partners and ’60s and ’70s classic rock fans,” Concert Chairman Rick French said. “This year we plan to give music fans a little bit of everything by paying homage to Rock and Roll’s R&B roots while also providing fans a healthy dose of classic rock and some other pleasant surprises.”
