Deriving its name from hipster flick Slackers starring Jason Schwartzman, Jason Segal and Jamie King, Chapel Hill’s Cool Ethan is the quintessential pop-punk band with influences ranging from NOFX and Green Day to Metallica and Children of Bodom.
SetlistLet’s Get Down To Business |
After moving to Chapel Hill from State College, Pa., Cool Ethan has been fighting to make its mark on the local music scene with a pop-punk sound in a predominately indie rock market.
The band released its debut EP, Songs For Your Self-Esteem, in January and has since earned featured spots on Amazon.com — where you can pick up the album right now for a “cool” $0.99 — and WalMart’s Web site. This combined with positive local buzz has helped to grow the band’s fan base on a national level since the current lineup came together less than a year ago.
