We mentioned a few weeks ago that Midtown Dickens would perform at the Pox World Empire Compulation Volume 3: Songs From North Carolina CD release party on April 25 at Local 506.
Now details have emerged in regard to that compilation … errr, compulation.
A press release reveals, “This third entry in the series is yet another pitch-perfect documentation of the variety that the North Carolina music scene has to offer: From the simple folky musings of Charlotte’s Anna Bullard and the lo-fi jangle of Asheville’s On The Take to the string-filled laments of Chapel Hill’s The Old Ceremony, the album shows great range without sounding disjointed.”
“The Disappear” by The Old Ceremony
Pox World Empire founder and compulation curator Zeno Gill says, “The primary objective was — and still is — to document the current music scene here and share it with as many people as possible.”
Compulation Volume 3 will feature songs from The Honored Guests, Americans in France, Filthybird, Nathan Oliver, Hotel Lights, Hundred Air, Anna Bullard, On The Take, Midtown Dickens, My Dad is Dead, Spider Bags, Un Deux Trois, Pound of Miracles, Dan Bryk, Tennis and the Mennonites, Véronique Diabolique, The Strugglers, Bull City, Dom Casual, The Old Ceremony and Auxiliary House.
“Mostly of Waves” by Filthybirds
The album release party will feature performances from Auxillary House, Midtown Dickens, Filthybird and Bull City. Tickets are $8 and doors open at 9 p.m.
If you missed The Old Ceremony’s performance on Sessions at Studio B, you can head to the video’s landing page to check it out.
