Just when I thought I had all the North Elementary 7″ EPs there were to have (oh yes, I was one of those lucky 10!), the Chapel Hill outfit has revealed a new split 7″.
The EP features North Elementary’s cover of Pistolero’s “Endless Summer” on the A-side and Pistolero’s cover of North Elementary’s “Lovesday Dead Down” on the B-side.
“Endless Summer” by North Elementary
“Lovesday Dead Down” by Pistolero
“We’re pretty big fans of each other’s songs, so it was easy enough to want to do it,” North Elementary frontman John Harrison said. “The interesting thing is that we actually did it.”
Harrison said “Endless Summer” was ” the first song of theirs I instantly liked. I would ask them to play it every time we played together.”
A limited number of 200 copies will be given away for free at the door of the two bands’ shows on April 23, 24 and 25. The EP will be released in a hand-screenprinted sleeve designed by Regina McCoy.
Tour Dates:
| 04.23 | Chapel Hill, N.C. | Local 506 |
| 04.24 | Charlotte, N.C. | Snug Harbor |
| 04.25 | Atlanta, Ga. | Star Bar |
Any remaining copies of the vinyl will be made available at Harrison’s solo performance at The Cave in Chapel Hill on April 29.
North Elementary released Not For Everyone Just For You on Feb. 24 through Eskimo Kiss Records. The Atlanta-based Pistolero will release Warface on April 25.

I’m fairly amp’d about the show at 506 tonight, I’ve blogged about two of the bands on the bill, North Elementary and also Wembley who are unbelievably unknown. This will be a well spent $5.
