While we’re still waiting for the headliner to be announced for Raleigh Downtown Live’s Aug. 22 concert, the folks at Deep South Entertainment have revealed the list of performers who are set to support the main acts.
Raleigh’s own Big Rick & the Bombers and Old Habits are set to open for Candlebox on May 30 along with Greenville’s Parmalee. Fayetteville’s Ethan Hanson will open for Filter on June 13 along with Raleigh artists Bill West and Bright Young Things.
The Tubes will have an all-Triangle support group with The Loners, Ascella Vega and Zydecopious. The Triangle rock invasion continues on July 11 when The T’s, Violet Vector and the Lovely Lovelies and Schooner take the stage before Joan Jett. And singer-songwriter Brent Jordan is scheduled to return to Raleigh when he opens for Charlie Daniels Band on July 25 along with American Aquarium and Lonnie Walker.
Raleigh’s Kevin Wing and River City Ransom will perform along side Green River Ordinance, Colourslide and Marcy’s Playground when they open for Tonic on Aug. 8.
The as-of-yet unannounced headliner on Aug 22 will feature performances from Raleigh’s Adam Pitts and Airiel Down as well as Greensboro-based hip-hop group The Urban Sophisticates.
