All right, so I’m going to do this with as few Kenny Loggins puns as possible.

Loggins will take the Highway to the Danger Zone Durham Performing Arts Center along with Jimmy Messina on Sept. 4. OK, that was bad; I apologize.

The pair are hitting the road together again after the success of their 2005 “Sittin’ In Again” reunion tour.

“This is less about a musical reunion and more about reuniting a relationship that’s become more of a friendship than ever before,” Messina says.

“It’s funny how our separate journeys have somehow brought us back around, into each others lives again,” Loggins continued. “When people ask, ‘What do you see coming for Loggins and Messina?’ I see that we have an incredible second chance at actually having fun and celebrating who we were then and who we have become. I remember we were so tight at the beginning, our musical sensibilities were so connected, it’s great to get to share those feelings again, with the clarity and compassion that 30-some years can bring.”

Tickets for the performance go on sale March 13 at 10 a.m. for $37 to $62 at the DPAC box office, by phone and the DPAC Web site. They will also be sold through Ticketmaster and area Ticketmaster outlets.
