The Loudest Concert Ever Will Be At Cat’s Cradle

I know that headline is quite assuming, but Mogwai is definitely the loudest band I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing live. Apparently Manowar holds this distinction; and if that’s the case, Mogwai is the loudest live band that doesn’t sing about dragons and sorcerers.

Anyway you cut it, the Scottish post-rock band will melt faces — or at the very least shatter eardrums — at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro on April 24. Opening for Mogwai is another Scottish group, The Twilight Sad.

“Sun Smells Too Loud” by Mogwai

Both Mogwai and The Twilight Sad released albums in 2008: Mogwai’s full-length LP The Hawk Is Howling on Sept. 22 and The Twilight Sad‘s EP Here, It Never Snowed. Afterwards It Did on June 9.

Tickets for the concert go on sale Feb. 27 at noon through etix for $18.
