Triangle Music first reported and now the band’s MySpace page confirms that Chapel Hill/Nashville-based Americana band Roman Candle will host its album release party at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro on May 9. Supporting the band will be Keegan DeWitt from Nashville.
The band’s highly anticipated follow-up to 2006’s The Wee Hours Revue is due in stores May 12 through Carnival Music. The art for the album is a painting by Swedish artist Camilla Engman entitled “Morran in the Woods.” Leading up to the release of Oh Tall Tree In The Ear, the band will unleash two more EPs in addition to Eden Was A Garden, which was released Dec. 2, 2008.

If you missed Roman Candle on Lake Fever Sessions, head over to the Lake Fever Web site and check out “Eden Was A Garden,” “Why Modern Radio Is A-OK” and a cover the Faces song “Glad and Sorry.”
The band will perform at this year’s SXSW on March 18 during the Belfast Nashville Songwriters Party at Latitude 30 and March 19 at Irie Bean Coffee Bar.
Ticketing information has not been revealed, but given the album release show will be at Cat’s Cradle, expect them to be sold through etix.
