Hair Metal Invades Walnut Creek

While yesterday brought the announcement that Crüefest 2 would make its way to the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion on Aug. 23, today we have the revelation that more awesome hair metal is coming our way.

Def Leppard will pour some sugar on the Walnut Creek amphitheater on Aug. 7 with Cheap Trick and Poison. That’s right, Bret Michaels is bringing his Rock of Love to Raleigh.

An exclusive ticket presale with begin March 4 at 10 a.m. for Citi card members through Citi’s Private Pass program. For the rest of us, we’ll just have to wait until March 6 when we can purchase tickets through Live Nation.

Considering this tour will cover 39 cities from June 23 through Sept. 7, we can only assume that either Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos won’t be touring with the band, or a “highly anticipated” Tinted Windows world tour is not in the making any time in the near future. Oh well, I guess my Hanson/Fountains of Wayne/Cheap Trick/Smashing Pumpkins dream will have to be placed on hold.

Fan club pre-sale tickets for Crüefest 2 went on sale Feb. 25 while the on-sale for the general public begins at 10 a.m. on March 20.
