Raleigh-based band and Terpsikhore recording artists Sunfold performed Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009 at Local 506 in Chapel Hill. The band squeezed in a couple dates — including the Local 506 show — before the members have to switch roles for the up-coming Annuals tour.

The band performed songs from its debut album Toy Tugboats as well as tracks from the Wet Zoo split EP and a new, as-of-yet-untitled, EP. Sunfold frontman and Annuals guitarist Kenny Florence said the band recently finished recording the first in a series of new EPs and said the songs are difficult to describe but are “more classical.”

Annuals will embark on a tour spanning the United States and some of Canada with Jessica Lea Mayfield and labelmates What Laura Says starting Jan. 20 in Minnesota. The bands will perform at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro on Jan. 31.

If you haven’t caught Annuals performance on Sessions at Studio B, be sure to click over to the performance page and watch the band play stripped down renditions of “Confessor,” “Sore,” “Springtime” and “Always Do.”
