Roman Candle has been quite prolific over at their blog. The band has announced the release the date for its up-coming album, Oh Tall Tree in the Ear, the addition of a tour date in the Triangular neck of the woods and some details on the soon-to-be-released EP.

“Dear friends — we are pleased to announce that Oh Tall Tree in the Ear will be released in North America on May 12 of this year,” frontman Skip Matheny writes on the band’s blog.

“We finish final mix edits Monday and Tuesday, and master this new record on Thursday. All the while we are trying to work on our new EP which God-willing, will include 3 new recordings and a vinyl b-side only cover.”

In the same breath, Matheny announced that Roman Candle will open for The Old Ceremony at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro on Valentine’s Day. The show is an album release party for The Old Ceremony’s up-coming album Walk On Thin Air.

The Old Ceremony will perform on Sessions at Studio B right here at Music.MyNC on Feb. 12 at 4 p.m. As always, if you have a question for the band, feel free to type it into the chat room and we’ll get it answered between songs.
