Chapel Hill-based Rat Jackson has been fairly inactive since before the holidays, but the garage rock outfit is planning a three-day weekend to more than make up for its absence.

In one of the funniest press releases we’ve ever read, Rat Jackson announced that they would be performing on Feb. 5 at Tir Na Nog Irish Pub in Raleigh for Local Beer, Local Band with The Travesties and The Pneurotics. Also, the band will perform Feb. 6 at Armadillo Grill in the Bryan Center at Duke University for the Campus Concert Series with The Dirty Little Heaters and vODKA. And to finish what is sure to be a monumental weekend, there will be a show Feb. 7 at Jack Sprat Cafe in Chapel Hill with The Pneurotics and Bull City.

So what has Rat Jackson been doing since their Nov. 28 performance at Triangle Brewing Company in Durham?

“Spending all day in bed with ladies of suspect moral fiber and even more suspect mental capabilities,” the band writes.

Hopefully this well-needed rest will translate into a full on face melting experience in February.
