British Invasion? Not Quite.

Kevin Norris over at Triangle Music dug up some tour dates for Glasgow, U.K. band Glasvegas. One can only assume that the Brits affectionately attach the suffix “vegas” to the first part or letter of a city; much like we do in the States (see G-Vegas).

Included on the tour is a stop at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro on March 25. Tickets for the show go on sale Saturday, Jan. 10 at 10 a.m.

I’ll Buy That For Two Dollars

David Menconi over at On the Beat points out that the newer than new band from former Two Dollar Pistols frontman John Howie will perform at The Berkeley Cafe in Raleigh on Feb. 28 with South Carolina’s Blue Dogs.

This will be the second show for John Howie Jr. & the Rosewood Bluff, which consists of drummer Matt Brown and pedal-steel player Nathan Golub, Patty Hurst Shifter bassist Jesse Huebner and guitarist Scott Gilmore. The band’s first show was Dec. 12, 2008 at The Cave in Chapel Hill.
