The new album from Neko Case is one of my most anticipated albums of 2009. Her latest single has been on a near-constant repeat since its release last Wednesday; and from the sound of “People Got A Lotta Nerve,” March 3 can not come soon enough.

Now a report from the Triangle Music blog indicates that another anticipated date is on the horizon for Raleigh’s Neko Case fans. It appears that the singer-songwriter will be joined by Crooked Fingers at Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh on April 7.

Triangle Music says tickets for the show will go on sale Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster and the Progress Energy Center box office for $22 or $25.

David Menconi over at the News & Observer’s On the Beat blog revealed that Cat’s Cradle is presenting the concert. The show is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 7.

Just last week ANTI- Records announced a collaboration between Neko Case and Best Friends Animal Society; through which Case and ANTI- would donate money to the organization for every blog that posts the singer’s latest single.

“For every blog that posts ["People Got A Lotta Nerve"] and iLike user who adds it to his/her profile, Neko Case and ANTI- will make a donation benefiting Best Friends Animal Society,” a press release from ANTI- says. “Five dollars will be donated for every blog post and one dollar for every user of iLike that adds the song to his/her profile.”

Be sure to head to the song’s iLike page and add it to your profile, and consider this another blog post in the name of Best Friends Animal Society.

Middle Cyclone is due out on March 3 through ANTI- Records.
