RCRD LBL, an online record label that focuses on releasing free download of track from emerging artists, is offering the track “Til My Voice Is Gone” from The Old Ceremony’s up-coming album Walk On Thin Air.

Lead by songwriter Django Haskins, the band will release its new album on Feb. 9 through Alyosha Records. A record release party is planned for Valentine’s Day at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro.

RCRD LBL writes that the track “begins like it’s actually being played from the ’seawall’ Haskins sings about; a place where we imagine you can see orcas and sea lions and the water isn’t overly salty. Then the drums kick in, and this tune turns into something like Whiskeytown on anti-depressants; super-optimistic Americana for the weekend warrior crowd.”

The band will perform on Sessions at Studio B right here at Music.MyNC on Feb. 12 at 4 p.m. As always, if you have a question for the band, feel free to type it into the chat room and we’ll get it answered between songs.
