There was once a time when Chapel Hill was considered to be the next Seattle. National media caught on and soon the town was being featured in Rolling Stone and Sonic Youth even wrote a song entitled “Chapel Hill” that appeared on the band’s Dirty LP.
This is a feature that was done by WLFL Fox 22 before it became known as CW22. It is a nice glimpse of the Triangle music scene in the early ’90s and contains interviews with Tom Maxwell from What Peggy Wants and Squirrel Nut Zippers, Dave Brylawski from Polvo, and Jim Wilbur from Superchunk.
