It’s Actually Totally The Best Band Name Ever

Some sad news this holiday season folks. As David Menconi of the On the Beat blog points out, it seems Raleigh’s own I Was Totally Destroying It has been included on The Onion’s annual list of bad band names.

We here at Music.MyNC feel I Was Totally Destroying It is actually one of the best band names — especially in the Triangle. In fact, the band would probably would take top honors if not for Terry Anderson & the Olympic @$$-Kickin’ Team.

But alas, not all media can share our affinity for bands who show no shame and value their own self worth with tell-it-like-it-is monikers. Of note, however, is The Onion included an asterisk next to the band’s name; denoting I Was Totally Destroying It as one of the The A.V. Club’s favorites from the list.

The list is broken into several categories, but you can find our favorite narcissists under “First Person” along with I’ve Ruined You Over the Years and Carlos, I’m Pregnant.

I Was Totally Destroying It’s new EP can be downloaded for free from the band’s Reverb Nation page.
