As previously mentioned, Chapel Hill’s Roman Candle plans to release four EPs before the release of its new full-length, Oh Tall Tree in the Ear.

The first of the bunch officially hit stores on Dec. 2, but the band celebrated its release on Dec. 4 with a performance at Mercy Lounge in Nashville. Now the band has followed the Saul Williams/Radiohead/Nine Inch Nails method of distributing music and has issued a pay-what-you-want method of acquiring the album.

Like Saul Williams’ album The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust! fans can elect to pay nothing for Eden Was a Garden and receive a lower quality download of the album. However, if anything other than nothing is paid for the EP, a lossless version of the download can be acquired.

A vinyl edition of Eden Was a Garden is available for purchase at any of Roman Candle’s concerts, and the album comes with an additional B-side.
