Former The Smiths frontman Morrissey is set to release his ninth solo album on Feb. 16, 2009. And shortly after its release, his Triangle fans will have the opportunity to hear the new tunes along with some Moz classics at the Durham Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, March 11.

Opening the show will be Eli Paperboy Reed & the True Loves, whose sound hearkens the late-’60s soul of Sam & Dave and James Brown.

Tickets for the show will go on sale on Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlets.

Morrissey’s last album, Ringleader of the Tormentors, was released in 2006. The release of Years of Refusal will be preceded by the single “I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris” on Feb. 9.
